Linux tip: Install LMMS and missing LMMS shortcut in Ubuntu 8.10

By Detector | 06 November 2008

To install Linux MultiMedia System in Ubuntu 8.10 go System/Administration menu and then click to Synaptic Package Manager.

In Synaptic Manager press Ctrl+F and in the search field enter lmms.
Select the LMMS package and Mark for Installation. Apply the settings. The program will be installed in few minutes.

After installation, my personal experience was installed program without start menu shortcut. So if you have the same situation go to the System/Preferences menu and click to Main menu option. On the Main Menu window, from left choose Sound and Video, and from right make New Item. In the Create Launcher Window enter name “LMMS” without quotes, on command enter lmms and click OK, then Close.

And that it’s. Now you can found LMMS in Sound and Video menu. Enjoy in your music creations.
