Samsung started manufacturing the 256GB Flash SSD. This SSD is the company largest and fastest drive. It reads 220MB and writes 200MB per seconds, so this SSD in comparison with rotating disks can launch applications for about 10x times faster.

The other characteristics of Samsung SSD is low power consumption (1.1W) and because is chip based is totally silent and almost shockproof, ideal for notebooks and HTPC.
