By Detector | 10 February 2009

Are you tired of going to applications menu all the time for starting terminal? Don’t want to make terminal shortcut on the panel or desktop?

Here is simple solution. Go to system/preferences/keyboard shortcuts.
When list is open, scroll down and find terminal, click on new shortcut and press for example F12. Closing the settings, you can instantly start terminal every time when you need it with pressing F12.

I usually bind it to the “Windows” key.

I would like very much to bind the windows key to the command of opening a terminal. however, when I select terminal in the list of keyboard shortcut and then press the windows key, nothing happens: the shortcut is still waiting for me too press a key or key combination. Ctrl-(windows key) won’t work either, for example. Any hint someone? Thanx
