By Detector | 27 February 2009

Linux is quite easy to use, regardless of the workplace environment (GNOME, KDE, Xfce, etc. ). GNOME and KDE recently increase their version numbers – in other words – the new features, increased stability and aesthetic details.

Now, the team that develops Xfce working environment, after two years of development, announced a new version of Linux Xfce 4.6. It is an update with great improvements to the most important components. Added a new “session manager”, manager settings, the tool to set the sound, etc.

Linux Xfce is known as a “lightweight” working environment, which in a free translation meant a small, fast, convenient and simple. Those who prefer minimalism and good performance will be thrilled with a new version.

In order to acquire the best insight into Xfce 4.6 for Linux, on their site you can find as they called: “Visual Tour” – the presentation of all new features. The official announcement of the new version can be viewed on the website Xfce.org and you can download it from here.
