On their official blog “Engineering Windows 7“, Microsoft announced that next Windows 7 release will be RC (release candidate).

There are no information’s about release date, but all functions planed for final Windows 7 version will be implemented in release candidate version. Microsoft says that Windows 7 development is almost over and cooperation with OEM producers and partners is intensive to ensure better Windows compatibility, drivers and support with hardware.

After RC version, there will be RTM (release to manufacturing) and GA (general availability) when you can buy Windows 7 pre-installed on PCs or as full packaged product.
