By Detector | 07 February 2009

Does it often happen to you that you have to leave the computer suddenly, so you need to Log Off quickly? At the same time, you wish to do it in the fastest possible way, and you do not want to wait for the computer to do it itself after a few minutes of being inactive? There is a very simple explanation, which will shorten the process to only one mouse click. The solution includes the usage of shortcut icon. Therefore, if you wish to get a familiar Welcome screen with the help of shortcut, here is what you need to do:

  1. Right mouse click on your empty space on the working screen
  2. New -> Shortcut
  3. In the text space enter, that is, copy the following
    rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

  4. Click Next and name the shortcut
  5. Click Finish

After you are done, try your shortcut by double clicking it, and try your “program”.

Now you can also change your little icon by doing the following:

  1. Right click the mouse on the icon
  2. Tab shortcut -> Change icon
  3. Copy Shell32.dll into the section named “Look for icons in this file” and press Enter
  4. Chose the icon’s picture and press OK.
