Try Arch Linux LiveCD

By Detector | 28 May 2009

Did you ever think to try Arch Linux but you have to cancel out because of the relatively ‘geek’ installation in the time of modern and simple tools for installation? If so this is your chance.

Christopher Rogers (better known under the nickname “godane”) issued Arch-live CD, Unofficial Arch Linux live CD with automatic hardware Xfce working environment and the graphical installers. Last released version is 20090524 (version 20090524) which contains: kernel 2.6.29.4, glibc 2.10.1, GCC 4.4.0, X. Org Server 1.6.1, Xfce 4.6.1, Firefox 3.0.10, GIMP 2.6.6 and some popular open source applications.

Arch Linux is one of the most up-to-date Linux distributions and has a reputation as distribution which is easy to maintain thanks to its excellent “Pacman” package manager and repositories which are updated frequently.

Interested? Download the ISO disk copy (or via Torrent).
