Apple recently patented a new multitouch input method that looks like Star Trek starship – Enterprise. The patent describes a large multitouch-enabled surface that will allow input of all ten fingers at once, plus palms and wrists.

This new idea-patent will enable a multitouch surface to act like one big keyboard and mouse combo.

This patent leads to a long-rumored Apple tablet, but also can be used and implemented in apple keyboards, mouse or other multitouch product. The company often patents concepts without ever bringing them to the market. So we hope that this patent will see the light some day and we all can have an own Enterprise input control.
