Ubunut 10.04 – long term support LTS is released today so you are very welcome to download it and install from ubuntu official page.

Canonical chief executive officer, Jane Silber, said the 10.04 release challenges the perceptions of the Linux desktop, “bringing a whole new category of users to the world of Ubuntu”.

As usual, the new Ubuntu comes with the latest and best software from the free open source world. Lynx comes with a new default theme, new polished Ubuntu Software center, new FLOSS drivers for nVidia cards and many more improvements.

This Ubuntu release is “social from the start”, integrating the most popular social services into panel new Me Menu, so you can connect on facebook, twitter and other services directly from the desktop.

Every Ubuntu user has access to Ubuntu One service, so you can backup and synchronize your files, documents, contacts, bookmarks and use or share them on a single click every time you need them. This release comes with Music store integrated, the songs are available to Ubuntu users through the default music player. The DRM-free Songs can be purchased then stored in the Ubuntu One cloud and then shared across multiple computers and players.

Empathy – the default messaging client evolve also, now is more integrated with the system so your chats on multiple accounts from Yahoo, Gmail, MSN, Jabber, AOL will be real pleasure. Empathy is highly customizable app so you can found various themes according to you chat taste. Check more here.
