GMail Telephony Service – One Milion Calls Per Day

Google has announced that its new service which will provide the telephone call directly from Gmail successfully started and the first day was achieved more than a million calls.

Given that the service is currently only available in the U.S., it is estimated that every 3000-th call in the U.S. is achieved through Google service. Specifically, the U.S. has more than 300 million people which make calls on average – about 10 calls a day.

The service enables free calls of Gmail users in the U.S. and Canada, and very cheap calls to other destinations. Below you can find rates for some of the countries per-minute:

The service use Gmail as an interface, and optionally can be integrated with Google Voice to allow receiving calls.
